About Our Shade Sails
Shade sails are versatile and stylish solutions for providing shade and protection from the sun's harsh rays in outdoor spaces. Our shade sails are made from strong knotted HDPE. They are designed to be stretched tightly across designed areas to create shade. Shade sails are typically constructed from durable, UV-stabilised fabric that is resistant to fading, tearing, and mildew. Platinum shade sails offer protection against up to 95% of harmful UV rays. The fabric is breathable, allowing air to pass through while still providing effective shade. This design prevents heat buildup underneath the sail. We think that shade sails are a great addition to an outdoor space as they take up very little floor space and can be easily removed and stored during winter. Depending on your space you could take advantage of walls to anchor your shade sails. Alternatively, you can get support poles which are specially designed for shade sails. When anchoring your shade sail you want to make sure that you respect the continuation of the diagonals. This means that when you fix the shade sail by the corners they should be pulled out diagonally. Tensioning the shade sails means that you will have optimal aesthetics as well as performance. If you stretch your sail well enough you will have better wind resistance, better water damage and no water pockets. This might sound easier said than done but don’t worry. To tension your shade sail you need to find the turnbuckle which is located between two snap hooks at each corner of the shade sail. Then turn the turnbuckle clockwise at each fixing point. This can be done by hand. To ensure the best performance we recommend that you regularly tighten your shade sail to prevent sagging. This can be done using the turnbuckles.Anchoring your shade sail
