Cantilever Parasols FAQ's

  • Can I leave my parasol up in the rain?

No, parasols should not be up in the rain they're water-resistant not waterproof. Parasols are designed to keep you in the shade not shelter you from the rain. We would always advise you to put your parasol down in adverse weather.

  • Should my cantilever parasol wobble?

Yes, this is completely normal. Your cantilever parasol needs to wobble to remain stable, if the parasol did not do this it would fall over. So don't be alarmed if you notice your parasol wobbling. However, with that being said if it gets too windy we would always wind the parasol back down.

  • Does over winding a parasol cause damage?

Yes, overwinding your parasol can damage it. Overwinding can cause the parasol mechanism to break.

  • How do you store a cantilever parasol in the winter?

During winter you should keep your parasol down and use a protective cover. Using a cover protects your parasol from bad weather, bird droppings and garden debris. However, if you choose not to purchase a cover there is no need to store your parasol as they can stay outside all year.

  • What is the difference between a T1 and a T2 cantilever parasol?

T1 parasols can rotate 360 degrees and tilt up and down. Whereas a T2 parasol can rotate 360 degrees, tilt up and down as well as left and right. The only difference between the two is that the T2 tilts left and right.
