UV Protection

With every parasol, you can expect to get some protection from the sun. However, not every parasol out there will protect you against UV rays. Platinum parasols will filter and protect you against harmful UV rays. 

UPF stands for ‘Ultraviolet Protection Factor’ and it shows how much UV radiation can penetrate through the parasol canopy. Platinum parasols have a UPF rating of either 30+ or 50+ which means you’re protected from the sun. If a parasol has a rating of 30+ this is classed as very good with around 96% of UV rays being blocked. However, a rating of 50+ is the best possible rating as 98% of UV rays are blocked.
